Confirmed a real gap in native Odoo before building: when message_process() fails to route or process an inbound email for any reason, fetchmail's own cron just logs it to the server log and marks it "seen" on the mail server - the message is gone forever, with no database record and no UI to review it. Catches that failure and saves the raw message so an admin can actually see what got lost, with its error and full raw source. Reading and deleting is what this does; routing a captured message into the right model and retrying it is Lost Message Recovery.
