Cp/Cpk Calculator
Process capability from measurements you already keep in Odoo
The video below shows Cp/Cpk Calculator running on a real Odoo 19 database. Want it driven against your own data, or a question answered first? Ask and we will set up a session.
Cp and Cpk answer a question a spreadsheet keeps re-answering: is this process actually capable of holding its specification? The measurements are usually already in Odoo. The calculation usually is not.
Point this at the model and numeric field your measurements live in, give it the upper and lower specification limits, and press Compute. Odoo's Quality app is Enterprise-only , so this reads from any model and any stored numeric field - which is what makes it usable on Community at all.
Two real processes measured from product data: one capable at Cpk 1.36, one not at 0.28.
What it does
Why both numbers
Cp can look healthy while every part drifts toward one limit. Cpk catches that, and when Cp is well above Cpk the app says so - because the fix is to centre the process, not to reduce variation.
Not tax advice
The capability bands used to read the result are the conventional ones rather than any single standard, and a capability index is only ever as good as the measurements behind it.
What it does not do
Stated up front so nothing about the scope is a surprise after you install it.
A capability index from a handful of measurements is not worth much, and the app says so rather than printing a confident number. It also refuses to divide by zero when every measurement is identical - a stuck gauge, or a rounded field - and tells you to check the source.
