Some of the payments waiting to be reconciled are obvious: the reference names an invoice, and the amount is exactly that invoice's balance. Those are the ones nobody should be spending time on.
This finds them. Run a scan and every unreconciled payment that names one invoice, for exactly its amount, is listed with a link to both sides.

What it does
Deliberately strict
A match is reported only when all three hold: the invoice number appears literally in the reference, the residual equals the payment, and exactly one invoice fits. Two candidates means a person should look, so nothing is reported. A confident wrong answer costs more than no answer.
Reports, never reconciles
This app never reconciles, posts, or writes to a statement line or an invoice. A test proves it at runtime: it records the state of both sides, runs a scan, and asserts nothing changed.
What is left over
The payments this app cannot match are the ones that actually need judgement - part payments, deductions, and remittances covering several invoices at once. Those are a different job, and they are what the paid app does.
What it does not do
Stated up front so nothing about the scope is a surprise after you install it.
