US Breach Deadlines
An editable rule engine, not a hardcoded legal database - because even the professionals disagree
The video below shows US Breach Deadlines running on a real Odoo 19 database. Want it driven against your own data, or a question answered first? Ask and we will set up a session.
Roughly 20 US states now have a hard numeric data-breach-notification deadline - California's SB 446 (effective 1 January 2026) set a strict 30-day floor - while the rest still run on a "without unreasonable delay" standard. One incident affecting residents across several states means several different clocks running at once, and getting the shortest one wrong is a real state AG enforcement exposure. Nothing in Odoo or its App Store resolves even one of these 50+ overlapping rules today.
Read this before relying on it: state deadlines are legislated, amended, and reported inconsistently even by professional compliance trackers - two independent sources checked while building this directly contradicted each other on New York's deadline. This app does NOT ship a full 50-state hardcoded legal database pretending to certainty it can't back up. It seeds 5 states where independent sources agreed (California, Colorado, Florida, Washington at 30 days; Texas at 60 days) in a plain, admin-editable rule table - every other state ships with no rule, which surfaces honestly as "verify manually," never a silent guess.
What it does
The engine is the product
Add or correct any state's deadline in a plain editable list, any time - no code change, no waiting on an update. The value is the multi-state tracking and shortest-deadline calculation, not a static table you can't touch.
Never a silent wrong answer
A state with no configured rule shows up clearly as unconfigured - it never falls back to a guessed number or gets silently skipped from the incident.
